1. Introduction
UFO Timeline ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data Controller
3. Data We Collect
UFO Timeline is designed with privacy in mind. The App does not require user accounts and does not store personal data on external servers.
3.1 Locally Stored Data
The App stores your preferences (selected theme, language) locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
3.2 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following data:
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
- IP address
- General location data (derived from IP)
- App usage data and interaction with ads
This data is collected and processed by Google. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
3.3 Network Requests
The App loads case-related images from external URLs. These requests transmit your IP address to the respective image hosting servers. No other personal data is transmitted.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
For advertising data, processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR (consent) where required, or Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in financing the free app through advertising). Local data storage is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (necessary for app functionality).
5. Data Storage & Security
User preferences are stored exclusively on your device. The App does not operate any servers or cloud infrastructure for user data. Advertising data is processed by Google according to their security standards.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data. The only third-party service that may process data is:
- Google AdMob (advertising provider) — processes device and usage data for ad delivery
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — Request information about your stored data
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — Correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — Request deletion of your data
- Right to restriction (Art. 18 GDPR) — Restrict processing of your data
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) — Receive your data in a portable format
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — Object to certain processing activities
To exercise these rights regarding advertising data, you can reset your Advertising ID through your device settings, or contact us at the address above.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Local preferences are stored until the App is uninstalled. Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data. For advertising data retention by Google, refer to Google's data retention policies.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if the app changes or legal requirements change. Users will be notified of significant changes.
